When I get to where it ask me about which drive I want to install Windows on, I select it, says it needs to be formated, I do that, and then it gives me this error message. Ok, so I've been trying to install Windows 7 on an internal drive that's not my boot drive. Is there something wrong with the 64-bit drivers? I updated it with the Vista 64-bit update. Well repairing or system restore doesn't help, and I reinstall it. I get the blue screen, Windows can't start correctly and it tries repairing itself on the next reboot.

It seems to me after I install the Boot Camp drivers, something happens. I had to have another version of Windows on it before it would allow me to install it, and then I had to make sure it booted to the Windows HDD and not the Windows 7 disc upon reboot.īut now of course I've got another problem. Did you already check this apple.Edit: I'm editing my old thread, so I finally got Windows 7 installed. If the installation still doesn't work a more time consuming way has to be chosen (modifying the boot.vim) and i will write a second answer. Delete $WinPEDriver$, AutoUnattend.xml and BootCamp and continue with step 6.

If your install drive already contains those files and folders then check if the USB drivers are present. If your boot device doesn't contain $WinPEDriver$, AutoUnattend.xml and BootCamp please download and extract BootCamp.zip and copy the contents of the resulting BootCamp folder to the root level of your install drive.File/Folder structure of the root of your boot device (your external USB-drive):.ExFAT formatting with Apple disk utility.app often doesn't work (means: formatting ends in FAT32 instead of ExFAT) and according to different sources a volume size limit of 2TB exists for MS-DOS (FAT) (=FAT32).ĭownload link: Latest Boot Camp Support Software If you don't have a thumb drive, try to use an USB hard drive smaller than 2 TB. Windows 7.iso Home Premium 圆4, Professional 圆4, or Ultimate 圆4 Please check if you meet the following requirements: To circumvent limitations (new drivers, new hardware) Microsoft uses the $WinPEDriver$-feature to provide drivers at installation time.Īpple Boot Camp uses this method to provide the necessary drivers with the boot medium - your external USB drive. So a "non-standard Windows7.iso" including "additional drivers" without injecting/implementing them into the boot.wim won't help much either.ītw BOOT (X:) is not your install drive but the mounted boot.wim.
